Quality & compliance

What arrives with the goods.

Not a wall of certificates. A short list of documents, what each one actually proves, and the terms we work to when a part does not match what was agreed.

Documents

Supplied with the shipment, or on request.

DocumentWhat it coversWhen
Declaration of conformityStates the material, hardness and dimensions supplied against your orderWith every shipment
Material declarationCompound identification and the substances we can confirm are absentWith every shipment
RoHS test reportThird-party laboratory result on the compound, EU 2011/65/EU as amended by 2015/863On request
REACH statementSVHC screening against the current candidate list, 0.1 % w/w thresholdOn request
Batch recordProduction reference, inspection date and quantity for the batch suppliedOn request, per batch
Two points of accuracy, because they come up in audits. REACH and RoHS are not certifications — there is no certificate to hold. The output is a test report plus a declaration, and that is what we supply. And a RoHS report only applies to your order if the part goes into electrical or electronic equipment; for a hydraulic cylinder it is not the relevant regulation, and REACH is.

Traceability

Every bag carries four things.

Size, material grade, quantity and batch reference. It is a low bar, and it is the difference between being able to answer a complaint and having to guess.

On the label

Inside diameter and cross section in millimetres, compound and hardness, quantity, batch reference, inspection date.

In our records

Batch records are retained for 24 months, which covers the shelf life of the compounds we supply and the usual warranty period of the equipment they go into.

On the paperwork

The batch reference appears on the packing list, so a parcel can be matched to a production run without opening every bag.

Conversion is written down. If you order by outside diameter, or by an AS568 number, the converted inside diameter and cross section are printed on our quotation before you confirm. If the conversion is wrong, it is our error and we say so at that point, not after the goods arrive.

Claims

If a part does not match the specification we confirmed.

We replace it or refund it, and we cover the freight. That applies when the dimension, compound or hardness differs from what was written on the quotation.

If the specification changed on your side after confirmation — a different groove, a hotter application, a fluid we were not told about — we will still help you sort it out, but the freight is yours. That is not a penalty; it is the only way the first promise can stay affordable.

SituationWhat we do
Wrong dimension or compound suppliedReplacement or refund, freight at our cost
Quantity shortBalance shipped at our cost, or credited
Visible defect on arrivalPhotograph within 14 days; replacement or credit
Failure in serviceWe ask for the failed part, the fluid and the operating temperature. If the compound was wrong for the application and we recommended it, we carry it. If the application differed from what we were told, we split it
Specification changed after confirmationReplacement supplied, freight at your cost
Our liability is limited to the value of the goods supplied. We do not accept consequential loss, downtime or damage to equipment. This is standard in the trade and we would rather state it on a web page than have it appear in a dispute.

Production

Where the rings are made.

Production runs at a mould shop in Shenzhen with more than 2,500 O-ring moulds, covering metric, inch, JIS and GB series. The facility holds IATF 16949 and ISO 13485 certification; copies are available on request, subject to their consent.

We are not that factory and we do not describe ourselves as one. What we add is specification checking, documentation, labelling and export — the parts that decide whether an order arrives correct.
